Kisters introduces VisShare, a new member of the Kisters 3DViewStation product family. This corporate web environment for multi-CAD collaboration is suitable for internal and external sharing of 3D CAD data.
Unlike other browser-based viewing programs that require off-premise cloud storage, VisShare can be configured on internal servers or a cloud service. All viewers need is a browser—no separate software to install. VisShare can be used by internal teams, partners, suppliers and customers using the same web portal.
Server-side rendering allows VisShare to work with any computer or device with a browser. No 3D data is transmitted, only the image. Important data stays safe inside the firewall.
Each user is assigned their own personal file space. Specific CAD models can be saved there and shared. Selected CAD models can be published, which makes them visible to any VisShare user. Published models can be used for presentations or other second-hand purposes. VisShare also allows sharing non-CAD files including PDF and MS Office documents.
Specific files can be shared with anyone by issuing them a link to the model. Links can be withdrawn or deleted at any time. Temporary collaboration is also possible by sending an invitation.
In use, VisShare makes it easy to navigate through even the most complex models. Parts can be selected for view/hide. Assemblies or parts can be cut or exploded as needed. Geometry can be organized to color by state. Users can apply markups or text annotations.
VisShare ships with current importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D file formats including Dassault Systèmes Catia and SolidWorks; Siemens NX and Solid Edge; PTC Creo; Autodesk Inventor, Revit, and AutoCAD; plus the open formats JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DXF, DWF, MS Office and more.
