FINE/Acoustics version 8.1 from Numeca is now available.

This release comes with a documentation included in the software package, available in the customer area on the website.

The new version focuses on the user-friendliness and robustness, in particular for turbomachinery applications.

The new wizard is designed to predict tonal and broadband noise for turbomachinery applications. The Turbomachinery wizard allows the ability to automatically set up, run and post-process the aeroacoustic analysis of tonal and broadband noise for turbomachinery configurations (axial, radial or mixed-flow).

Main advantages for the users are:

  • minimum user inputs;
  • fast, reliable and detailed acoustics results; and
  • reduction of the design cycling cost.

Along with the new Turbomachinery Broadband and Tonal Noise Wizard, the company has run a series of validation cases on academic and industrial configurations, such as tandem cylinder; airfoil with flap; NASA Advanced Noise Control Fan; simple axial fan case from Concepts NREC database; centrifugal vacuum cleaner compressor; IMAGE research project “aero-engine” axial fan; blower for air conditioning systems; INSEAN E779A marine propeller and mufflers.

Additional functions have been added to the Python API to extend the scripting and automatization of your workflows.
