Dear DE Reader:

The gift-giving season is present again. Today's Check it Out package is one that you'll want to open. You could get wrapped up in it.

The COMSOL Learning Center is now open to everybody—designers, engineers, researchers, educators and the curious. It doesn't matter if you're a new, potential or long-time COMSOL Multiphysics user, this free-access Learning Center has something that'll engage you. You can learn about or bone up on everything from navigating the environment to building geometry, adding physics, solving and post-processing. It's also a fun place. Active COMSOL users get an extra perk, too. More on that later.

The Learning Center is a modern online library. Its basic structure consists of nine primary headings corresponding to the fundamental steps in the COMSOL Multiphysics modeling and simulation workflow. These are User Interface, Geometry, Definitions, Materials, Physics, Mesh, Study and Application Builder.

Under each heading is a list of topics. You can see these immediately below the introductory video. This is where it gets fun.

Let's take Study. The topics are Basics of Studies, Parametric Sweeps and Post-Process Sweep Results.

Say you click on Basics. That'll pop up a new multimedia web page. Front and center is a video tutorial that guides you through setting up a Study. Aside: The videos throughout the COMSOL Learning Center display their agenda adjacent to the play button before you begin. Handy feature.

Now scroll down again. You get a concise essay with considerations to bear in mind and tips for optimizing studies.

Scroll down further and you'll see additional resources. Note the locked exercise models and the array of further resources. The latter are supplementary materials like blog posts deep diving into a related subject and models that link to their own bit of tutorial.

This brings us to the sweetener for COMSOL users. If you log into your COMSOL account, you can download exercise model files and make the whole experience a self-paced, interactive and hands-on tutorial.

The COMSOL Learning Center presently has more than 30 of these click then watch, read, discover and interact subareas. Your takeaway is that this site is slick. It's easy to navigate, completely engrossing and, at no cost, priced quite right. If you want to maximize your investment in COMSOL Multiphysics, it's a no-brainer. If you're considering adopting multiphysics modeling, it's the best demo you'll ever have. Hit today's link to start.

Thanks, Pal. – Lockwood
