PTC and Ansys have announced a CAD joint offering hat combines the PTC Creo platform with the Ansys set of high-fidelity solvers. Creo Ansys Simulation adds simulation to the modeling environment and, according to the companies, democratizes technology in a way that can help improve quality and reduce costs.

“Ansys and PTC are rapidly delivering on our common goal to seamlessly integrate simulation into product design,” said Mark Hindsbo, vice president and general manager for the Ansys Design Business Unit. “This next joint offering expands the simulation capabilities for designers in Creo and, equally importantly, offers integrated workflows between PTC’s and Ansys’s products to benefit our customers, many of whom are already joint customers.”

Creo Ansys Simulation enables design engineers to conduct high-fidelity structural, modal and thermal analyses of their products, the company says. The high accuracy solvers complement the design guidance provided from Creo Simulation Live, which was released in February 2019 in conjunction with Ansys.

“Were really excited about PTC and Ansys taking the next big step to deliver on the vision for true simulation-driven design that’s been in the marketplace for decades,” said Brian Thompson, division vice president and general manager for the CAD Segment at PTC. “Creo Ansys Simulation enables companies to get better products to market faster at less cost. That’s digital transformation with the designer int the front seat.”
